Job Summary

The Lounge Host/Hostess role involves managing telephone calls, overseeing restaurant reservations, and

communicating with the Reservations Department regarding special requests and large parties. Additionally,

the position requires a comprehensive understanding of the menu and providing timely, positive, and

professional greetings and seating for clientele.

Duties-Responsibilities

▪ Greeting guests in a positive, friendly manner and making them feel welcome

▪ Guiding guests through all phases of their experience

▪ Answer telephone and directing calls

▪ Oversee daily reservations, pre-assigning seating where necessary

▪ Communicate with Reservations Department regarding VIPs, special orders, cake orders, special

requests, large parties, etc. – responsible for conveying all such information to management

▪ Exhibit menu knowledge of all items

▪ Greet and seat clientele in a timely, positive, welcoming, and professional manner as they arrive

▪ Control the flow of guests coming into the venue

▪ Direct guest(s) to appropriate waiting area, record their position, and keep them updated to the status

of their table

▪ Clean menu covers, replace inserts, and general tidiness of podium area where necessary

▪ Shut down the podium, forward phones to voice-loop, and stack menus at end of shift

▪ Clean all spills immediately

▪ Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately.

▪ Maintain a level of professionalism, that will make guests want to return

▪ Bid farewell to guests, using guest’s name when known, and encourage them to return

▪ Perform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignment

▪ Communicate effectively with management and service team members in order to fulfill and address

any issues or needs requested by guests and or other team members

▪ Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and team members’ needs and inquiries

▪ Conform to the department grooming standards, uniform or attire, and jewelry policy

▪ Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and all health and

safety regulations set by County health department

▪ Responsible for proper check out policies and procedures

▪ Perform side work as assigned

Work Experience & Knowledge-Education Background

▪ 6 months experience as hostess in a similar work environment

▪ Must have a working knowledge of Spirits, Wine and Food

▪ Basic computer skills and experience with POS systems and cash handling skills

License-Certificates:

▪ SNHD Food Handlers Card

▪ Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in The United States
